Yep. I did that too. I even tried additional power supplies to distribute the load. …. It turned out, I had not installed the set screws correctly. A TON of time later, all back together. And working GREAT!!
I got the same problem and it was the connection between the J2 motor and the gearbox, it's very easy to tighten the 2 screws (green arrow) so that the connection is good, maybe you can add it to your mounting pdf ;)
I suspect this could be a mad connection to one of the motors AABB power wires. If you can email me a video so I can see the behavior and hear any sounds the motor is making I will help you troubleshoot this.

I had the same problem, slipping on the J2 joint, in my case the problem was due to the tightening problem between the motor shaft and the coupling.
