Hi Everyone.
I am new here so if this topic starts in the wrong section, I request the moderators to move it to the proper section.
I am making a medium sized CNC router. I am having a weird problem with one of my stepper motors. It was not there a few days ago and Google search could not give me any solution. I tried different drivers but the same problem persists.
Main Specifications:-
Motor - Nema 17 Motor (https://www.oyostepper.com/category-6-b0-Nema-17-Stepper-Motor.html)
Driver - DRV8825
Power Supply - 12V (ATX PSU)
Controller - Arduino+GRBL0.9j
Microstepping - Full Step. (I am using a lead screw and I don't need microstepping right now).
The motor was also working fine a few days ago. Now, when moving and accelerating, the motor stops due to vibrations. I can rotate the shaft so it is not holding phase but it is not spinning either. At the end of the motion, when it is expected to slow down, it works fine.
Another identical motor works fine with the same driver and control, so I doubt there is something wrong with the motor. I opened the back cover but can't see any visual damage or burnt copper coils.
Hi, i saw such problem on my CNC router. Try to increase the power (to 24V). Maybe 12v is not enought.
i changed my power supply to 48V. and also, the good decision - using different power supplies for steppers motors and for inverter.
