Thanks for contributing your work to opensource world.

Can any one use this for business/commercial use ?

The software is opensource but what is the actual type GPL2/ GPL3/ Apache/ MIT license type?

Its a modified BSD license, there is a copy of it in the software download folder. I would love to see people utilizing the robot for use in their businesses or manufacturing operations - all I ask is that people not try to repackage and sell my software for profit and that it remain free, and I ask that no one produce and sell parts to build the AR2 robot. Let me know if that answers you question. thank you.

If I want to sell my completed AR2 in order to buy and build a new AR3 kit, is that ok? Not as a business just to fund an upgrade.

I have a related question on this older post. I recently came across your AR3 kit. It looks perfect for some development purposes. It could be useful for our own business processes as is, or perhaps we will need to modify it. Two questions

  1. Can we produce our own HW parts for our own products that will be included in our process - not to resell for someone else to build the robot, or do we need to purchase the parts from you?

  2. What if we need to modify the parts - i.e., make the arms longer or shorter, etc. Can we modify the design for our own purposes?

@robert-hasslen The license for the robot requests that people not build and sell robots for profit or sell robot parts for profit. If you are using the robot as part of a process and you are selling the process I request you purchase the robot kit from the website. If you want to modify or substitute parts for longer or shorter parts that is no problem.
