Is the 7th axis travel track coded in to the kinematics, or is it just a linear axis that can be moved? I'm wondering if I can make the 7th axis move from front to back, rather than side to side, or even maybe a rotation table to get a full 360 degrees of reach.

The 7th axis is not factored into the robots kinematics. The 7th axis position is however incorporated into the robots move command so when you teach a position the tracks position is also taught as part of that move. You could setup the track to be in any direction or rotation.
