The key on my j2 motor does not seem to be a close fit to the j2 spindle keyway. Seems to be at least 1 mm to large. So putting in the freezer will not fix this. Am I missing something or should I take a dremel to the motor key.

It looks like the key may not be fully seated into the motor shaft but I'm not sure. Can you see if the key will seat further down into the shaft and let me know.

@chris-annin Hi. Yes, that was the issue. I was able to push the key in further. It was still a tight fit. Needed to put it in the freezer and use some lithium grease. Also had to hit the motor housing couple of times to get it in.

OK thank you, I will talk to Stepperonline about making sure these are fully pressed in.

I had the same problem with the 3D printed model as well. I had to reprint the spindle and the bearing-holder
