I found some variations of the robot design in some of the demo videos, but I haven't found any documentation on the site about it. The picture below shows the AR2 robot with what appears to be a damper on the J2 axis. Does anyone have information on this? Would this be a beneficial addition to have on an Aluminum build?

This was a counterbalance that I incorporated into the design of the AR2 early on. This spring loaded pull back that would give J2 assistance for additional load capacity. I ended up removing it from the design, mostly to reduce cost as the additional load support wasn't necessary and joint 3 limits would cap the load capacity before J2 without the counterbalance.
