Hi,

I bought a long time ago an AR3 kit (parts and hardware) with the associated stepper kit. I have not already buy electronics parts.

Now I have the time to build the robot but I have a question : how to build directly a AR4 compatible robot with the old stepper motors kit ?

In other words, wich encoders should I buy for directly connect them to teensy 4.1 ?

You can use the AR3 motors and encoders. Under the AR3 downloads there is a document on doing this

Upgrade AR3 to AR4.pdf - Google Drive

follow the wiring from this document and then if you want to use the latest MK2 sketch and software there is a button on the kinematics tab to load AR3 defaults.
