J2 bearing set screws

I wonder why the set screws for J2 bearings are only on one side (tension ring) and not the other as well. They're meant for stopping play in J2 bearings, but don't these 4 M4x5 set screws stop play only in the left bearing and not the right? What stops play in the right J2 bearing?
