Hi all. I'm assuming this is likely some sort of wiring issue but given my lack of experience I wanted to check here first to see if anything was imediatly identifiable. The J2 arm is able to resist force in one directon but completely gives when I try and pull it in the other. To be specific, it seems to be holding when I push the arm in the (-) J2 direction but moves nearly freely when i pull in the (+). I quickly checked the encoder settings which look good so I assume a bad wire connection? I can post a video for further clarification if need be. Thanks for your time!

Check the mini dip switches on the J2 motor driver, run the encoder test program and make sure its working correctly

@johann-voigtlander mini dip switches were all good and encoder program worked normally except for the fact I realized there's a substantial amount of backlash which is certainly the problem - The J2 motor is losing mechanical contact so will rebuild and assess. Thanks for the comment!

I belive the M3 set screw for the J2 spindle has broken in place and I'm having difficulty removing, would it be best to attempt to drill through it to break it up? unsure if this will let me slip off the J2 motor therafter.

@max-youngson Try not to drill through; instead, try hammering it out with a 14-mm rod through the spindle. You can use a smaller rod, but it will take more time to hammer it out

I was able to seemingly break it appart but now having a lot of difficulty removing the motor assembly from the J2 spindle. I've tried alligning it everywhich way I can think, but the thing isn't budging. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

note: I also thought the debris from the set screw may be hindering the movement but unsure how to progress forward given I cant see any visible objects.

Nevermind, I've managed it after seeing Elijah's same problem!
