I'm not able to fit the 3mm rods inside their bushings as described on p162 of the build manual. My calipers suggest the rod OD is 3.04mm, while the bushing ID is 3.01mm. I've tried the drill method suggested in the manual, but I can't do the first step of getting the rods inserted, despite applying a fair bit of force and some heat to the bushing. Are there any suggested workarounds? Thank you!

Thanks Alastair - I saw that but though my issue was different because the rod itself is oversized, while the holes in both the bushing and housing are correctly sized. And am concerned about the resulting tolerance on the bushings if I drill them out. I've ordered some replacement 3mm rods so I'll try that first
Hi, I had the same problem. Apparently the holes were not drilled to the correct size you can see a thread on it here: https://www.anninrobotics.com/forum/questions/advice-on-fitting-linear-rods-in-j5-housing?searchTerm=3mm You can easily drill the holes out with a 3mm drill bit. There is very little material to remove and the hole keeps the drill running straight.
Bumping this as I'm still stuck on this issue. Not sure if I should attempt drilling out the bushing, turning down the shaft on a lathe, or getting a replacement shaft. I'd appreciate any advice!
