Hi Chris,

I'm working on finalizing the gripper for my robot, and have been having a lot of trouble getting these silicone tubes fitted well enough to not leak air. I'm using a solenoid with M5 connections, the specified 3mm OD silicone tubing, and a quarter inch air compressor line. The fittings are M5 adaptors to connect the 1/4in OD tube to the M5 fitting on the soleniod, then 2 3mm to M5 fittings for the silicone tubes. Lot of trouble fixing leaks, and would love some advice!

I also noticed the connectors used for your robot in the manual appeared to be homemade. Do you have suggestions for this?

Thanks!

Al

I had some issues with the press fit connectors bought from aliexpress. After switching to the barbed style I have no more leaks.

I was able to get it to work with some messing around - turns out I didn't push the tubes past the o-rings. My first time working with pneumatics, so definitely educational!

Also for the silicone tubes, I had to add a few wraps of teflon to get a seal to hold.

After all this, found out there was a tiny hole in one of my tubes at the robot control box end 🙁 so I'll have to figure out a good way to seal that. Hoping I don't have to rewire everything!

Was able to fix the hole with some sealing heat shrink, and now I've got a pressure holding system. Time for some programming!
