Quick curiosity question - I've been thinking about getting some carbon fiber reinforced filament and printing some stuff with it. Then I had the question - In theory a carbon fiber print would increase the payload of the AR2, right? Are the aluminum parts basically the same as the plastic but for the material, or were they restructured for the aluminum process? I'm not sure how to calculate/estimate by what amount the payload would increase.

I never fully tested payload on the printed robots for fear of breaking them, I did lift 25oz with the printed robot. The aluminum robot I tested with several different weights and I found that 4lbs was safe payload, when I got closer to 5lbs the J3 motor would give up and lose steps. Ive heard alot of positive feedback on the carbon fiber reinforced filement and Im sure it would make for a stronger robot arm but I couldn't say for sure what the increased payload would be over one printed out of regular ABS.
