after many years of wanting to get one of these since the very first arm was made public i have ordered the complete kit 3 days ago currently awaiting arrival of all the parts I will be posting my project Updates here as and when
In the mean time while i am waiting till next week i have pulled the 3D Printer out of storage where its been sat unused for the past two years and have started printing all the spacers and cosmetic bits. (Not many left to-be printed i will upload a photo later on ;) ) the plan for use of this arm will be to utilize my plasma cutter at work to make repetitive cuts to certain sizes of sheet steel, this is because i run my own business welding and fabricating on rotten cars/vans etc.. if all gose well this should speed up the fabricating side when making repair panels
Will be sat up all night watching this 10 hour and 30 minute print The joys!!
so i have managed to make a very basic python / tkinter program to run on the pi to allow the control of 8 GPIO pins from a pi with touch screen to control an 8 relay module
(Separate from the AR4 Control) - altho it would be nice if i could add it to a tab im just not that skilled
i would later like to add image files to make the buttons look nicer and figure out away of adding some more functions
Well my ar4 has been on a long journey
just also had to pay £239.31 import fees which was unexpected hopfully they said it should arrive tomorrow
Well here’s some photos of the currently printed parts still some on the way I printed them all with PLA as my printer won’t print ABS
The largest part took 12hrs and 30mins to print was an all nighter for me :)
All files printed flawlessly even tho the printer was left in a cupboard for 2 years due to moving house
few more bits still on the way
