why is this information hidden, anybody would want to know, seems like this question has been asked before and there was supposed to be a document on the payload and other specifications in a pdf or manual somewhere, for the life of me I could not find this file. Please make it easy to find information and please let me know where to find the info and hopefully the file or the info stays put in one place, Thanks for your kind consideration as it happens to be valuable info for the purchase of the kit. I really appreciate what you have accomplished and letting in everyone to your precious work.
Hello, If you go to the downloads and manuals page on the website and download the "AR3 Assembly Manual" have a look at chapter 6 specifications and there is information there. The robot payload is 1.9kg or 4lbs. Please let me know if there is any other information I can provide or add to the manual. thanks,
Chris
@Systems Planet Thank you, you may be able to push 7 or 8 lbs going slow and limiting the torque or extension on joint 3 but I don't believe you will get all the way to 10-15lb range. Its Joint3 that gives up when its overloaded. It may be possible to go with a higher ratio gearbox on 3, currently its 50:1 I'll have to look and see if they have a 100:1 in that frame size.
Have you had any updates? I'm looking to build an AR4 but if I can do any upgrades to increase the payload to 6-8 lbs with minimal problems.
I dont currently have any upcoming updates related to payload. I have recently been doing some testing and the robot can lift 5lbs (possibly a little more) when the arm is closer in and not fully extended. I will keep everyone updated if I have any updates to increase the payload. Thank you
Thanks a
