It was brought to my attention that the electrical enclosure cost has gone up significantly on Amazon. I was curious if anyone knows of any other lower cost options for electrical enclosures?

Hey Chris! @Chris Annin

I have an a lower cost enclosure option using a generic pc tower, here its de CAD Files and what I do

Using this tower that I bought for 18$

I made this CAD file using the mounting holes for the processor

If u need the CAD file please comment, I cant upload as a comment

So using aluminium composite panel for the base:

And here it is the final result:

Im using two PSU, the PC one its for the external IO devices.

Greetings from Ecuador!

@mateo-josue-cruz-gallegos Nice, that's a really good solution. Thank you for sharing the pictures.

Yes, for me the cost of the recommended one (and lead times) was too high so I sourced another one:

Works well but had to place the components slightly differently. Also it's a metal mounting plate, so a hint of threading to be done but works well!

Mateo,

I have started sourcing parts for a new AR4 build and I have not decided on the enclosrue. I would be interested in the CAD files if they are available online. Great job on your build by the way!

@skip Thanks for posting the enclosure CAD file. Stepper Online has the stepper driver CAD files under the Download tab.
