My HK1612 bearing has a really tight fit on the J5 bearing post and cannot budge at all, so much so that I cannot remove it from the post. Should it be freely rotating around the post? What are consequences of the bearing being stuck?

Thanks in advance!

Can you email me a pic and measure the diameter of the post. Did you get the parts from the website or source elsewhere? I'm guessing its a bad bearing but its entirely possible the post is bad, in either case I will replace whatever needs to be replaced, let me know. I try to review ever forum post but email is always the fastest way to get a hold of me if you need help right away with a part.

@chris-annin I got both parts from the kit. I was able to remove the bearing from the post by adding WD-40 between the two parts and then rotating while pulling the bearing. I then filed down the bearing post a tiny bit using a machine file. Now the two parts are rotating freely.

I see same/similar issue with HK1612 and J5 bearing post. Sanded the post down to 15.95mm and now it fits ok - maybe a little grindy but spins. Not sure I can take them apart though, the fit was still very tight...

Another issue with this part is that @ 0.2mm layers the spacer prints 3.6mm tall, the extra .1mm is enough to make the bearing bind when tightened. I scaled the spacer down to 3.4mm and it works fine now. Maybe my slicer is not smart enough and needed some hand-holding here ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I bought the kit couple weeks ago. Thank you, @Chris Annin! 🙂
