AR4 MK1 Dip Switch Settings

Hello Team,

I have an older AR4 MK1 that I want to update. I've attached the dip switch settings from the MK1 and MK3 and the driver settings for the DM542T's which my MK1 uses.

Can i adjust SW5-8 so that they are doing 1/8 steps (OFF, OFF, ON, ON - respectively... J4 and J5 will be different). Will making these changes allow me to use code versions 6.1?

Cheers,
J

Yes that should work fine. Make sure the DM542T driver amperage settings don't change. Once the driver dip settings are at 1/8 step load the sketch and software. Use the AR4 (MK1) defaults on the kinematics tab but change your drive micro steps to match your drives (MK3) -> 800,800,800,800,1600,800

make sure to save.

Thank you!
I'll give it a go. If I don't reply back it must have worked :).

Hi Chris,

I believe I found some inconsistencies or a typo for J4. I've attached a screenshot from the DM320T manual.
It looks like in the AR4 MK3 manual for that driver you have SW 4 = OFF, SW5 = ON, SW 6 = ON which would equate to a 1/4 microstep and not a 1/8.

For a 1/8th microstep it should be SW4 = ON, SW5 = OFF, SW 6 = ON.

Similarly, it looks like J5 on the MK4 MK3 manual is set to 1/8 not 1/16 and J6 is set to 1/4 not 1/8th.

Could you please confirm this?

Thanks for the help!

looks like I goofed up the step callout - should be 1/4 and 1/8 step not 1/8 and 1/16. I'll get that fixed. The pictures and dip settings should be correct.
