To keep the cost of the AR4 as low as possible, I do not sell the motors and drivers myself. Instead, I have worked directly with StepperOnline for many years and have an established partnership with them to provide complete AR4 motor packages at factory-direct pricing for Annin Robotics customers. They have consistently done an excellent job with packaging, shipping, and customer service, and in my experience orders are processed quickly and professionally.

By having the motors shipped directly from the manufacturer:

• Customers receive factory-direct pricing with no additional markup from Annin Robotics.
• Shipping is often faster because the motors ship directly from the manufacturer.
• Customers receive genuine factory-supported motors and drivers.
• It eliminates the cost and complexity of me stocking, handling, packaging, and re-shipping heavy motors and power supplies.
• I can focus my time on improving the robot, software, documentation, and customer support rather than inventory management and order fulfillment.

My goal has always been to make the AR4 one of the most affordable 6-axis educational robot platforms available. Selling the motors myself would require additional inventory, labor, packaging, warehouse space, and overhead that would ultimately increase the cost of the project for everyone.

The AR4 project therefore consists of two primary purchases:

• AR4 Combo Kit from Annin Robotics (aluminum components, bearings, belts, pulleys, hardware, electronics, and other robot components)
• AR4 Motors & Drivers Package directly from StepperOnline
