This combo kit provides all the primary structural and hardware components to build the robot. You do need to purchase the motors and drivers factory direct from Stepperonline. To keep the AR4 project as low cost as possible I dont mark these up, add any taxes, tariffs or additional shipping fees - purchasing the motors direct keeps the robot cost as low as possible. You also need to 3D print a number of the covers and spacers - this also keeps the project cost as low as possible not having to pay for injected molded components.
The AR4 MK5 Combo Kit is the professional 6-axis arm you machine or assemble yourself. Pair it with the factory-direct motor package from StepperOnline and 3D-printed covers in the color you want. Payload 4.15 lb. Repeatability 0.25 mm. Built for light assembly, CNC tending, R&D, and classrooms.

What's included in the AR4-MK5 combo kit?
26 machined aluminum pieces, all bearings, belts, pulleys, shafts, pins, machine screws and set screws, plus all the primary electrical components needed to build the AR4 robot. Hall-effect homing on joints 1 to 3 and HTD belt drive on joint 3 are included.
What does the combo kit not include?
The stepper motors and drivers, which you purchase factory direct from StepperOnline, a gripper or tool holder, and the 3D printed covers and spacers. You can print the covers yourself or buy them from C.I. Printing Services.
How do I program the AR4?
The AR4 ships with a free Python HMI that includes a digital twin, plus ROS 2 support, Modbus, and G-code. Firmware and electronics are open too, so you can change behavior at any level.
Does the AR4 support ROS 2?
Yes. There is a ROS 2 driver for the AR4 6-DOF robot arm, tested with ROS 2 Jazzy on Ubuntu 24.04, with MoveIt control and Gazebo simulation.
