1st day
Debur, clean, and chase all holes with bolts before you start. I used a bench vise with wood jaws to press bearings, and blocks of wood to push deeper. M3 14 soc bolts too short? Not enough thread engagement to motor? /images/forum/media/875bc3c04ababb50.avif /images/forum/media/54e9fb9316e8f5a7.avif Tube thread miss aligned, wont tread. 1st day: deburr, clean, press bearings
Deburr, clean, and chase all holes with bolts before you start. I used a bench vise with wood jaws to press bearings, and blocks of wood to push deeper. Note: Avoid saw dust from entering race ways.

Cleaning and tapping threads
10mm threads cleaned. M3 0.5 tap, lots of plastic wrap to protect bearings. Used wire in the blind hole to measure depth, then added tape on the tap.

J4 motor bolts and tube thread
M3 14 socket bolts too short? Not enough thread engagement to the motor? Tube thread misaligned, won't thread. Much easier to install when the motor is not attached.
